MODMO was founded in March 2020 by Jack O’Sullivan, a then 23yr old Irishman with a vision to make the bike that would replace your car.
Two years earlier, Jack had left Ireland for Vietnam to find factories and partners that could bring this vision to life. He wanted to keep the bulk of his supply chain close together on-site in Asia, while developing other arms of the business back home at HQ in Dublin.
In March 2020, Modmo’s 2 man team launched a 3D concept video, showing the world the product we wanted to create. By the end of 2020, we had amassed 982 pre-orders from 27 countries and in February 2021 we shippied our first bikes.
Modmo is now a team of 25+ spread all over the world from our HQ in Ireland and our team on the ground in Europe, to our factory in Vietnam.
At MODMO, our mission is to accelerate the adoption of cycling as a primary mode of urban transport.
We want to replace fossil fuels with green energy, saving the environment and keeping the air clean, and contributing to the growth of a new, healthier way of life. We believe that by 2025, every household in Europe will have an electric bike, and MODMO is striving to be an industry leader in design, technology and user experience.
Our planet is struggling under the weight of climate change, and running our cities on carbon-emitting fossil fuels is only contributing to the problem. Air pollution and traffic congestion also have a significant impact on our quality of life. Imagine if everyone rode bicycles. Would stressful commutes even exist?
