Job Overview

The Regulatory Research Engineer is responsible for researching global legal regulations and technical standards, translating regulatory requirements into technical specifications, and supporting product compliance for automotive and non-automotive products. The role also involves collaborating with international teams and improving work processes through automation and programming.

Job Responsibilities

Regulatory Research & Analysis

• Analyze legal regulations and international standards across different countries.
• Derive technical requirements from regulations and document them in internal databases.
• Research technical topics including:
  • Vehicle safety
  • Exhaust treatment
  • Emissions
  • On-board diagnostics (OBD)
  • Functional safety
  • Cybersecurity
  • Materials
  • Data protection
  • Fuel and energy consumption
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
  • Reliability
  • Vibration
  • Other regulatory topics

Product Evaluation & Technical Support

• Understand automotive and non-automotive products, systems, software, and services.
• Identify applicable regulations for products and evaluate product compliance.
• Translate legal and technical requirements into engineering specifications.

Documentation & Collaboration

• Apply knowledge of international legal frameworks in regulatory research.
• Maintain and update regulatory information in internal databases.
• Collaborate with local and global teams to improve working methods and close process gaps.

Process Improvement

• Improve efficiency by applying programming or coding in daily work.
• Support process optimization and automation initiatives.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the manager.

Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in:
  • STEM disciplines
  • Engineering
  • Technical English
  • Related fields

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in product development or applied research.
• Fresh graduates with relevant research experience are encouraged to apply.
