Job Overview

We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support firestop engineering projects through quantity calculation, BOQ preparation, technical documentation, and project coordination.

This role provides an opportunity to work closely with Engineering, Sales, and Project Teams while gaining practical experience in construction, MEP systems, and fire protection solutions.

Job Responsibilities

BOQ Preparation & Quantity Calculation

• Assist in preparing firestop BOQs based on project drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
• Perform quantity take-offs using:
  • Architectural drawings
  • Mechanical drawings
  • Electrical drawings
  • MEP drawings
• Calculate and verify material quantities accurately for firestop applications.

Technical Review & Documentation

• Support engineers in reviewing project documents to identify firestop requirements.
• Prepare and organize technical documents, including:
  • Submittals
  • Datasheets
  • Product certifications
  • Technical records
• Assist in preparing technical proposals, product selections, and system recommendations according to project requirements.

Coordination & Communication

• Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Project Teams to clarify technical requirements.
• Communicate with internal teams to collect missing information and resolve discrepancies in drawings or material calculations.

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure BOQ items comply with fire protection standards such as:
  • UL
  • ASTM
  • EN
• Maintain knowledge of firestop systems, application methods, and design guidelines.
• Maintain project files, BOQ templates, and calculation records.
• Prepare reports on BOQ progress and project workflow status.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Fire Protection Engineering
  • Related technical fields
• 0–1 year of experience in:
  • Technical engineering support
  • BOQ preparation
  • Construction project coordination
• Experience with firestop systems, construction materials, or MEP design is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Good understanding of technical drawings:
  • Architectural drawings
  • Structural drawings
  • MEP drawings
• Good command of MS Excel.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting tools is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail with good analytical and numerical skills.
• Basic English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with teams.
