“To create a better everyday life for the many people”, is the IKEA vision. IKEA was founded in Sweden by Ingvar Kamprad 1943 and is today a global leading home furnishing brand. From the first store in the heart of Sweden up until today the business idea has remained the same: “to offer a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible will be able to afford them”.
At IKEA, we work hard to achieve good design and quality at affordable prices for our customers through optimising our entire value chain. From the development and design of products, through building long-term supplier relationships, developing efficient and sustainable ways of working in production, distribution and logistics to the presentation of the range in our stores.
Currently we have 390 stores in 48 countries. In Asia we have stores in Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, South Korea, China, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia with more opening every year. The IKEA store offers a one-stop inspirational shopping experience where you find everything for your home.
We are a value-driven company with a passion for life at home. Although IKEAs roots are in Sweden, we are a diverse group of people that come from all over the world and share the same vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people. How we realise this vision is based on our shared humanistic values. These values guide our work and build our inclusive, open and honest culture. It’s all based on a spirit of togetherness and enthusiasm.
Our vision goes beyond home furnishing. We want to create a better everyday life for all people impacted by our business.
