Research Focus
Thesis Title:
Development of an Electrochemical Biosensor for Quantifying Long Non-Coding RNA (lncRNA) to Predict Severe Dengue Progression Using Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS).
Overview:
Designed and fabricated a nano-structured electrochemical DNA/RNA biosensor for point-of-care (POC) dengue diagnostics, aiming for high sensitivity, rapid detection, and low cost.
Focused on detecting circulating long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs)—including EPB41L4A-AS1—as potential biomarkers correlated with the severity of dengue infection.
Utilized Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) to monitor charge-transfer resistance (Rct) variations on gold nanoparticle (AuNP)-modified electrodes following target lncRNA hybridization.
Aimed to achieve picomolar (pM) to femtomolar (fM) detection limits, improving diagnostic precision and enabling early prediction of severe dengue progression.
