Expected Length of Internship:
• As an internship company, we allow flexibility to enrol in classes while working as an intern, as long as it doesn’t interfere with the essential functions of the position.
• This internship will be 3 months, Start date: June 2022 – End date: September 2022

Experience:
• No previous experience required
• Knowledge and trouble-shooting experience with mechanical, electrical, PLC, robots and material handling systems is a plus.

Education:
• Background of Applied Science, Physics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Electronics, or Mechatronics.
• Must currently be enrolled in Bachelors, Master’s or PhD program who is fulfilling a graduation requirement for their degree.
• First Solar encourages all interns to register with their University.

Required Skills/Competencies:
• Minimum requirements:
o Understands metrology and measurement best practices
o Ability to work with minimal supervision.
o Good oral and written communications skills.
o Knowledge of General Electronics
o Knowledge in General Mechanical Systems
Business fluency in English and Vietnamese Language, spoken and written
• Additional required skills:
o Knowledge about electronic material
o Be good in Data Visualization, Data Science.
o Experienced with SQL server.
Know at least 1 statistical analysis software such as JMP / Minitab / Excel etc

Basic Internship Scope (Project):
• The Manufacturing Engineer Intern (ME) will support the Manufacturing Engineering team in day to day activities in sustaining the equipment and product KPI/KPO. This will consist of basic trouble shooting of issues, root cause analysis by doing experiments. Develop the innovation method for improving safety, quality, cycle time, throughput. Details proposal projects for internship as below:
o Improvement manufacturing Solar panel process
o Monitoring KPI/KPO in machine
o Develop scripts to check data
o Improve weekly/monthly report
o Cycle time improvement
o Safety/quality improvement
• Upon the completion of this internship, the intern is required to present their accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team.

Physical Requirements:
• Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to entire duration of a shift
• Will climb stairs on an occasional basis
• Will exert up to 23Kg of force to lift, push or pull on a seldom basis
• Will lift, push or pull up to 13Kg on a frequent basis
• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects repetitively on a frequent basis
• 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required
• Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
• May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
• May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards)
• All associates working on the production floor may be required to wear a respirator at any given time and thus, the ability to wear a respirator is a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair)
